Overview of the STM32 ARM Cotrtex M3

Just found an article at covering the basic hardware design of the STM32 micro controller. Among other things, it covers things like bus clocks and the basic operating principle of the MCU. An other one, covering the STM32 PINs in more detail, could be found at SZ.

SpokePOV Kit

Well – I don’t like those Arduinos too much … but that SpokePOV kit just rocks 🙂 Once mounted on the spokes of your cycle they display animated pictures on your wheels.

Tutorial on Controlling a H-Bridge with the STM32

I just fished a new tutorial on how to control two DC motors through the TB6612FNG dual H-Bridge with the STM32 Discovery board. The tutorial covers the wiring, as well as the software part.

Create FLV videos with mencoder

Sometimes one needs to embed a video in his blog 🙂 To do so, it is handy to have the video in FLV format. This could easily be achieved by using mencoder from the mplayer project: mencoder -forceidx -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -srate 22050 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=250:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -vf scale=360:240 -o OUTPUT.flv INPUT.{mov,avi,..}
