Cracking a Sansa Shaker Open

Here are some pictures showing how to crack a Sansa Shaker MP3 player open. The main „trick“ is to remove the two rings (which one uses to control volume or skip tracks). After the rings are removed, the cover could be taken into two half’s by removing the small screws which are hidden under the rings.

1) Remove bottom cover (battery/SD-card), lift ring (next/pref) with screw-driver

2) Remove top cover (speaker) by twisting it and gently lifting it with a screw-driver, also remove the top ring (volume up/down)

3) Now the two screws which where covered by the bottom/top ring could be unscrewed. After that, the cover half with the power button could be removed.

4) Remove the single screw which hold the main board in place.

5) Now the main board could be taken out of the second cover half. The battery holder and the speaker are connected by two small plugs which could be easily unplugged.
